You asked for it, we found them! Now you can upgrade your velvet leash to Locking Snaphook hardware, for the ultimate in safety. This hardware is perfect for those of you who like to use your collars or harnesses under coats - as the hole where the leash connects through the coat can sometimes open a standard trigger snap or snaphook. 

A few things to note:

• This hardware is available ONLY in solid brass. If you choose a leash with silver hardware and then choose to upgrade to the locking snaphook, the leash that you receive will have brass hardware.
• This hardware is heavier than our normal Brass trigger snaps!  It is intended for  large breed dogs.  Please don't order this upgrade for your Italian Greyhound or other small breed dog.  I promise the leash will be too heavy for your dog. 
• If you already have one of our velvet leashes, it is unfortunately not possible to change the hardware on your existing leash to this type of hardware. The only way it is possible is if we shorten the leash (meaning we would cut the original hardware off and sew this hardware on, so the leash would be shorter than it was originally).  This is because we are SO careful with our stitching, it is almost impossible to take the stitching out of an existing leash.
• You still need to order your leash by visiting our Velvet Leashes page.  There you can choose your velvet color and your preferred leash length. 
• You can also upgrade to the locking snap if you have chosen to add a matching leash on one of our collar and matching leash sets (Missoni, Cosmic, Ivana, etc).
